Party in the Park - Tickets now on sale!!  Friday May, 9 - 5:30 p.m. in CSUB's Alumni Park Call 661-654-3211 for tickets.               

Raise your glass and toast the 12th annual Party in the Park, one of the Central Valley's largest wine-tasting events. Hosted by the CSUB Alumni Association and the Bakersfield Wine Society, the event raises thousands of dollars for student scholarships.

Party in the Park precedes the annaul Bakersfield Jazz Festival. Cost for the tasting is $40 in advance or $50 the day of the event - if tickets are still available. Special packages to both Party in the Park and the Bakersfield Jazz Festival are available for pre-purchase only. A weekend package, which includes both days of the Jazz Festival and Party in the Park, is $90 per person. A Friday package that includes Party in the Park followed by the opening night of the Jazz Festival is $70 per person.

MPA Alumni Mixer

Come and join us for a MPA Alumni mixer. This is a great opportunity to network, keep in touch with friends and meet new ones. Learn about the possibility of forming a MPA Alumni Chapter. Congratulations to the Hall of Fame recipients  The CSUB Alumni Association has selected three accomplished alumni - Cesar Aristeiguieta, Mel Atkinson, and Wendy Wayne were inducted into the Alumni Hall of Fame at a special awards ceremony on March 8, 2008.  The event recognizes alumni who have made significant contributions in their careers and communities while also highlighting the accomplishments of the university itself.  To see the full press release on the 2008 inductees, goto http://www.csub.edu/csubnews/2007/fall/fameInductees.shtml.

Mike Neal selected 2008 Alum of the Year - 

Almost everyday he can often be spotted wearing the CSUB colors. Some of his close friends claim that he has the largest collection of blue and gold ties this side of Michigan. Although his doctor won’t say publicly, there are rumors that he actually bleeds blue and gold.

There’s no doubt that Mike Neal is passionate about CSUB and the opportunities it provides the students and residents of the Central Valley. For his enthusiasm and dedication to advancing the university’s mission, Neal has been named the 2007-08 CSUB alumnus of the year.

Neal graduated from CSUB in 1973 with a bachelor’s of science in business administration – accounting. Nine years later he earned a master’s of business administration. Since 1996, Neal has served as CSUB’s vice president for business and administrative services.
